Mumbai(Bombay), India: Dr. Padula was invited to speak at The International Ophthalmological Conference in May of 1998 in India. Dr. Padula lectured about NeuroOptometric Rehabilitation concerning the need to treat the visual problems affecting neurologically challenged persons. Colorado Springs, Colorado: Dr. Padula presented the seminar at the National Association of Rehabilitation Professionals( NARRPS) conference. Dr. Padula discussed issues of Post Trauma Vision Syndrome and Visual Midline Shift Syndrome affecting persons with traumatic brain injury and cerebral vascular accident. National Institutes of Health, National Consensus Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury(Nov. 1998): Dr. Padula presented at the NIH conference about Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation for neuro logically challenged persons. Dr. Padula included in his presentation video of a patient with visual midline shift syndrome. Dr. Padula represented in the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association. Recommendations were presented to the committee concerning the need for visual rehabilitation following a neurological injury or event. Workshops: Philadelphia PA (Oct. 1998) -. Dr. Padula presented a day long workshop at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry for occupational and physical therapists, physicians, and optometrists. The presentation included demonstrations and simulation vision difficulties caused by neuro logical problems. The workshop was well attended and participants received state-of-the-art information concerning vision rehabilitation. The copy of the agenda for the workshop is presented below. Chelsea MI ( Nov. 1998): A workshop was presented at the Chelsea Community Hospital about Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation for staff occupational, physical, speech, and recreational therapists as well as physicians concerning vision problems following traumatic brain injury and strokes.
